Our tour operator guide Halim was very good. He was helpful, accommodating and well-informed. The ride to Ain Sokhna was very comfortable and the boat was also well-equipped. Food was great on the boat with many options like chicken, fish, beef and veg. The scenery from the boat was mesmerising with the sea and the surrounding mountains. However, the boat’s snorkelling guide (not part of the original tour operator) was not at all good. It seemed like he had no idea which the best snorkelling spots are and were making us swim too much too randomly around the sea, making us all tired unnecessarily when there were lovely fishes just beside our boat itself. Having seen the Red Sea and its beautiful corals and fishes from Jordan before, I can confirm Ain Sokhna is not the best place for snorkelling. The water is too murky with reduced visibility. If you are looking for a boat trip to relax on the boat with good food and drinks, then go for it, not for the snorkelling.
